Ground relative or storm relative wind field

Hello!

I had a quick question regarding the output of FRACTL and SAMURAI. I was wondering if the multi-doppler output provides the ground relative wind field or the storm relative wind field.

For SAMURAI at least, it depends on your center file. For example, if your center file doesn’t move, it will return the earth relative wind. However, if your center file shows a moving center, it will return the storm relative winds.

I’ll confirm FRACTL, but I think it returns the earth relative winds?
