When I am reading radar data with dBZ and VRAD into SAMURAI, SAMURAI reports an error saying that “SW” data (“Signal Width”) is missing and the radar data cannot be loaded in. Compared to dBZ and VRAD, SW data is not that openly available for most operational weather radar services (which is crucial in case the MDR involve both operational and research radars), and a number of other MDR algorithms do not set SW as a “strictly necessary” requirement.
I will be greatly appreciate if a default value for signal width can be set in case of missing this parameter, or at least a reliable workaround can be suggested.
